Rare Hamilton “Oval” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1928.
The “Oval” is uniquely Hamilton and is one of the most sought-after of all American Art Deco design wristwatches. Priced to consumers at $55.00 in 1928, only 791 were produced in green gold fill. This example is in excellent condition, with just a minor touch of brassing to the bezel and lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 37mm long and 29mm wide. Original two-tone dial is good. Glass crystal is excellent with just a few minor marks. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 manual wind movement, just serviced and running well. I can supply a perfect and correctly refinished dial for an additional charge.
