Elgin “Legionnaire 1875” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill with original bracelet, circa 1937.
The “Legionnaire 1875” has a rectangular, beveled case. It was priced at $35.00 in 1937. This example is in crisp, near mint condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with most of its factory-applied brushed finish. The case measures 32mm long and 26mm wide. Original gold embossed dial is excellent. Original glass crystal is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 519 manual wind movement, just serviced and running. Gold filled bracelet is a perfect match to the one pictured in the 1937 Elgin catalog and is in excellent condition showing only light plating wear.
