Elgin “Campus” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1931.

This yet-to-be identified model in the “Campus” series is identical to the “Campus 942” model, but has a series of incuse lines inlaid with black enamel. It is the only example I have ever seen. It has a large curved case with hooded lugs which conceal where the strap attaches. It was priced at $29.75 in 1931. This example is in excellent condition with only some faint marks. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some very minor pitting. The case measures 38mm long and 24mm wide. Original gold embossed dial is good, has some patina from age. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 movement.
