Scarce Elgin “Model 1602” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1927.
The “Model 1602” has a simple barrel-shaped case with Art Deco engravings around the bezel. The dial has unique exploding white gold embossed exploding numerals set against a sand-textured gold background. This model sold for $50.00 in 1927. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 34mm long and 27mm wide. Original dial shows some slight aging. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its original 15 jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
