Elgin “Model 2233” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1938.
The “Model 2233” has a long, beveled, tonneau-shaped case. This example still has its original gold filled bracelet, and it was priced at $39.75 in 1938. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of microscopic specks of brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a couple of tiny specks of wear. The case measures 39mm long and 24mm wide. Original two-tone dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 484 movement. Original gold filled adjustable bracelet shows light wear.
