Rare unmarked Swiss “Jump Hour” ladies Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel with red enamel bezel, circa 1930.
This jump hour watch has the hour and minutes displayed in small windows on the red enamel bezel. When the revolving minutes displays nears the top of the hour, it triggers the hour display to jump to the next hour in synchronization with the minutes display. It was a novel feature apparently too confusing to consumers who were more comfortable with the more conventional watches. As a result, jump hour watches are quite rare and this example is even more desirable with its striking red enamel. It is in excellent condition showing only faint scratches to the chromium finish. Red enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. A small watch, it measures a mere 30mm long and 12mm wide. Rotating hour and minute dials are superb. The watch is powered by a high quality unmarked Swiss 15 jewel movement.
