Scarce Elgin “Skyscraper” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.
With its fantastic stepped and hinged lugs, the “Skyscraper” is one of the classic Elgin rarities and is a must-have for any serious American Art Deco watch collection. It was cataloged as the “Model 206” and priced at $48.00 in 1929. This is the nicest example I have ever offered of this model and it is in crisp, near mint condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 41mm long and 24mm wide. Refinished luminous dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 444 movement.
