Rare Hamilton “Calvin” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1935.
Offered only in 1935 and 1936, the “Calvin” is a rare wristwatch and was priced to consumers at $50.00 in 1935. The case of the “Calvin” is quite susceptible to heavy wear, but this example looks almost as if it is brand new. In fact, it is the finest example of the “Calvin” I have ever seen. It is in near mint condition with no brassing, and the sides of the case still have their brushed finish. Caseback is superb and unengraved, with all of its original factory-applied brushed finish intact. Crown is original. Case measures 37mm long and 21mm wide. Original black inlaid enamel dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 980 movement.
