Rare Elgin “Madame Agnes” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with green enamel bezel, circa 1928.

Part of Elgin's fabulous "Parisienne" series of watches designed by the famous couture houses of Paris, the “Madame Agnes” model features abstract sunray designs in green enamel on the bezel. It was designed by French milliner Madame Agnes whose shops were on the Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. It was priced to consumers at $35.00 in 1928. Usually seen in black, it is quite rare in green, and this is the first I‘ve had in more than 10 years. It is in excellent condition with only a speck of brassing in each bezel corner. Green enamel is excellent and complete, with only a few faint marks. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 movement.
