Very rare Gruen “Orne 3” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold with red, blue, gold, and black enamel, circa 1929.
Gruen's "Orne" series of ladies' enamel watches were the epitome of Art Deco design. All are rare and desirable. This model has highly stylized geometric designs inlaid with 4 colors of enamel... red, blue, gold, and black. It is very rare and this is the only example I have ever seen. It was priced at $60.00 in 1929. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Enamel is perfect and complete. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 28mm long and 16mm wide. Dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Gruen Guild grade 833 adjusted movement.
