Scarce Hamilton “Rutledge” men’s Art Deco design railroad presentation wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1940.

The “Rutledge” was Hamilton’s most expensive men’s watch, priced at $175.00 in 1940. This is the nicest "Rutledge" I ever offered and is in crisp, near mint condition showing virtually no wear. Case retains all of its original factory-applied satin finish. Caseback is superb, with an elaborate presentation engraving from the Milwaukee Electric Railway & Transport Company. The case measures 37mm long and 22mm wide. Original dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold applied numerals plated in rhodium. Has new glass crystal. Has original platinum clad crown. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M movement.
