Rare Elgin “Clubman” men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1932.
This version of the solid gold “Clubman” has alternating smooth and engraved panels on the bezel. Most examples of the barrel-shaped solid gold "Clubman" are found in white gold, this is only the second yellow gold one I have seen. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and has a presentation engraving from 1932. The case measures 35mm long and 26mm wide. Dial is excellent, has gold embossed exploding numerals on pebble-textured background. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Elgin grade 489 movement.
