Scarce Elgin “Giant Trench” men’s Military design wristwatch in silverode, circa 1917.
Giant 6-size trench watches are very scarce and this is only the second Elgin version I have offered. The Philadelphia silverode case is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with some minor corrosion. Refinished metal dial is superb, with black painted Arabic numerals and luminous dots and matching luminous hands. Case measures 42mm long and 38mm wide. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 289 gilt movement.
