Scarce Hamilton “Putnam” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1933.
The “Putnam” is perhaps Hamilton’s most dramatically stepped Art Deco design wristwatch from the 1930s. Only 3,861 examples were produced in white gold fill. The “Putnam” in white is quite difficult to find without heavy wear. This is the finest I have ever offered and is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing except for a very small area of wear on the lower right lug. Caseback is superb and unengraved with no wear. Case measures 34mm long and 28mm wide. Dial has been restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone silver Butler and white finish and solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987-F movement.
