Scarce Elgin “Oval Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1927.
This striking model bears a remarkable resemblance to the Hamilton “Oval Engraved.” Indeed, the Elgin “Oval” and the Hamilton “Oval” were both produced by the Fahys Watch Case Co. This is a quite scarce Elgin model and one of only a few I have offered for sale over the years. It is example is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 37mm long and 28mm wide. Dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a silver Butler finish and luminous numerals and hands. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15 jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
