Elgin introduced railroad-approved wristwatches around 1960. Usually found in stainless steel, Elgin also made models in gold filled and solid gold. This gold filled version retailed for $89.50. It is in crisp, excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 42mm long and 36mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Acrylic crystal is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 23-jewel Elgin grade 780 movement.
