Striking Elgin “Holcomb” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1954.
Elgin produced some fantastic Retro-Modern designs wristwatches during the 1950s. The “Holcomb” has a stunning black and gold checkerboard patterned dial and black inlaid markers on the case. This example is in excellent condition with just a tiny touch of wear to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a little wear to the opening tab and underneath the crown. Side of case has a few light dings. The case measures 38mm long and 23mm wide. Original gold and black dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Elgin grade 671 adjusted movement.
