Very scarce Hamilton “Meadowbrook” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1929.

Perhaps the most urbane and sophisticated watch Hamilton ever produced, the “Meadowbrook” bears the distinction of being in the first group of Hamilton men’s wristwatches to be named for something other than the geometric shape of its case. The watch has a very elegant cushion-shaped bezel set on a gently curved case. The “Meadowbrook” was priced to consumers at $110.00 with the gold numeral dial in 1929, and a mere 1,471 examples were produced in 14K yellow gold. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent, with a 1929 presentation engraving. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 979 adjusted movement.
