Scarce Hamilton “Putnam” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1933.
The “Putnam” is perhaps Hamilton’s most dramatically stepped Art Deco design wristwatch from the 1930s. It was priced to consumers at $52.50 in 1933 and only 3,854 were produced in white. This example is in excellent condition with only very light brassing to the bezel steps. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few specks of brassing in the corners. Case measures 34mm long and 28mm wide. Original two-tone dial is excellent, has solid 18K applied gold numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F movement.
