Elgin “Waffle” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow rolled gold plate with steel caseback, with original box, circa 1960.
This highly unusual Elgin wristwatch has a dramatic Retro-Modern design rectangular case with diamond shaped bezel opening and cross-hatch textured case, which prompts the unusual placement of the crown at the 4 o’clock position. It is in crisp, near mint condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 40mm long and 33mm wide. Original waffle-textured dial is perfect. Acrylic crystal is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Elgin grade 874 Swiss movement. Box and papers are excellent.
