Very rare Hamilton “Oakmont” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1933.
One of the classic Hamilton rarities from the 1930s, a mere 431 examples of the yellow gold “Oakmont” were produced. Simple and understated, the “Oakmont” is a extremely elegant and distinctive wristwatch, and was named for the historic Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania… one of the nation’s premier golf clubs. It was priced to consumers at $75.00 in 1933. This example is in excellent condition showing only the slightest indications of wear. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. The case measures 38mm long and 28mm wide. Dial is very good. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Hamilton grade 979-F movement.
