Very scarce Hamilton “Meadowbrook” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1930.
Perhaps the most urbane and sophisticated watch Hamilton ever produced, the “Meadowbrook” bears the distinction of being in the first group of Hamilton men’s wristwatches to be named for something other than the geometric shape of its case. In this case, the “Meadowbrook” was named for an exclusive golf country club. It was priced to consumers at $100.00 in 1931, and a mere 2,020 examples were produced in 14K white gold. This example is in excellent condition showing only the slightest indications of wear. Caseback is excellent and has a presentation inscription. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Dial is excellent and solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Hamilton grade 979 adjusted movement.
Price $1,450.
