Scarce Elgin “Touchdown” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1929.
This fantastic Elgin has stylized Art Deco geometric engravings on the bezel and case sides. This example is in excellent condition showing only the slightest indications of wear. The engraved designs are bold and crisp. Hinged caseback is excellent and unengraved, with one small ding. The case measures 38mm long and 25mm wide. Dial has been restored to its correct original appearance with a parchment white finish and luminous numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15 jewel Elgin grade 444 movement.
