Rare Hamilton “Accumatic A-504” men’s Space Age design men’s wristwatch in stainless steel, circa 1965.
The “Accumatic A-504” is the automatic version of the electric “Regulus” model. With case shape that is half square, and half round, the “Accumatic A-504” is one of the most unusual designs Hamilton offered. Cataloged only in 1965, the watch was created by Hamilton from unused “Regulus” electric cases housing an automatic movement. It was priced at $65.00 in 1965. It is quite rare, this is the first I have offered. This example is in crisp, near mint condition showing virtually no wear. Case edges are sharp. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 40mm long and 31mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 689 automatic movement.
