Hamilton “Railroad Special 50” men’s Retro Modern electric men’s wristwatch in stainless steel, circa 1962.
Just serviced and running strong... Introduced with the 505 movement in 1962 at $89.50, the “RR Special 50” was housed in a large, rugged stainless steel case and approved by 38 railroads for use by employees under time standards. It has bright white dial with simple black numerals and a red lightning bolt sweep second hand. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 44mm long and 36mm wide. Original dial is excellent, with a few marks. Has new acrylic crystal. Has correct Hamilton crown. This watch is powered by its correct 11 jewel Hamilton grade 505 electric movement, just serviced by me and running strong.
