Spectacular Hamilton “Winthrop” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1939.
The “Winthrop” has a long curved case and ribbed lugs. It is one of the harder-to-find gold-filled models from the late 1930s. It was priced at $52.50 in 1939. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. The caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 42mm long and 21mm wide. The dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone coral and gilt finish with radiating black enamel painted numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 980 movement.
