Very scarce Hamilton “Meadowbrook” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1930.

Perhaps the most urbane and sophisticated watch Hamilton ever produced, the “Meadowbrook” bears the distinction of being in the first group of Hamilton men’s wristwatches to be named for something other than the geometric shape of its case. The watch has a very elegant cushion-shaped bezel set on a gently curved case. The “Meadowbrook” was priced to consumers at $110.00 with the gold numeral dial in 1930, and a mere 2,020 examples were produced in 14K white gold. This is one of the nicest I have ever offered and it is in crisp, excellent condition showing only the slightest indications of wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is excellent, with slight patina, and has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Thick glass crystal is excellent, with one faint scratch. This watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Hamilton grade 979-F adjusted movement.
