Very scarce Hamilton “Oval Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1928.
The “Oval” is uniquely Hamilton and is one of the most sought-after of all American Art Deco design wristwatches. Priced to consumers at $57.00 in 1928, only 797 were produced in green gold fill. This example is in crisp, excellent condition, with only a speck or two of brassing to the lugs. Bezel engravings are crisp. Caseback is excellent and unengaved. Case measures 37mm long and 29mm wide. Two-tone dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987 movement.
