Scarce Elgin “States 455” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in two-tone 14K green and white gold fill, circa 1929.
A larger-size watch, the “States 455” has fancy stylized Art Deco engraved designs on the bezel and lugs with the center case body being green and the bezel and caseback being white. This example is in excellent condition with a very minor touch of brassing to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 37mm long and 30mm wide. Dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone white and silver Butler finish and luminous numerals and hands. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Elgin grade 487 movement.
