Lord Elgin “Oxford” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1955.
A very bold and striking design, the Lord Elgin “Oxford” has a ornate cross-hatch design on the lug mounts and large hinged lugs. It was priced to consumers at $89.50 in 1955. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Underside of lugs show a little wear. The case measures 47mm long and 24mm wide. Original black dial is excellent. Has faceted acrylic crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 21 jewel Elgin grade 670 adjusted movement.
