Rare Roamer “Belt Buckle” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium plated rolled gold and green gold fill, circa 1928.
As far as Art Deco watch case designs go, it would be hard to top this fantastic example from the Swiss maker Roamer. The case is chromium plated rolled gold with unusual green gold-filled applied belts above and below the dial. Roamer made quality watches and is still in the watch business today. This example is in excellent condition with just a minor touch of brassing to the highpoints of the belts. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with just a small amount of wear in one corner. Case measures 35mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is very good and has unusual silver and black enamel inlaid designs. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 6 jewel Roamer movement with a highly decorated celluloid dust cover.
