Scarce Hamilton “Brooke” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1938.

The “Brooke” was one of the earliest asymmetrical wristwatches offered by Hamilton and has a sleek, trapezoidal case that is wider at the bottom, but with the top of the dial angled higher to make the time easier to see. This extraordinary, radical design was apparently not popular with consumers and was offered only in 1938. It is very scarce today, especially with the inlaid enamel dial, and this is the only example I have ever offered with this dial. It is in excellent condition with light brassing to the lugs, and a few light nicks to the side of the case. Curved caseback is excellent and unengraved. Underside of lugs show wear. The case measures 40mm long and 23mm wide. Original dial is very good. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its original 17 jewel Hamilton grade 980 movement.
