Rare Gruen Curvex “Majesty” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1937.
The “Majesty” is a truly massive wristwatch, measuring a whopping 52mm long. It was the largest Curvex model Gruen produced. Priced to consumers at $59.50 in 1937, it is quite rare and desirable today and this is the only example I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition with only a faint , thin line of wear on the top of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and has a presentation inscription from 1937, and a faint line of wear along the top and bottom edges. Underside of lugs show small spots of wear. The case measures 52mm long and 22mm wide. Dial has been restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone silver Butler finish and gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Gruen Precision grade 330 Curvex movement.
