Elgin “Louise Boulanger” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with blue enamel bezel, circa 1928.
In the 1920s, no other watch manufacturer could match Elgin’s Art Deco designs for ladies’ wristwatches. Elgin retained top designers of international prominence to create some fantastic designs. This “Louise Boulanger” has triangular baby blue enamel inserts on the bezel and stylized Art Deco designs along the case edges. This example is in excellent condition with only a speck or two of brassing to the bezel corners. Enamel is complete with just one tiny nick. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with some light dings and a few small spots of wear to the corners. The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Dial is very good. Acrylic crystal is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 488 movement.
