Very scarce Elgin “Madame Agnes” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with black enamel bezel, circa 1933.
This “Madame Agnes” model features abstract sunray designs in black enamel on the bezel. It was priced to consumers at $35.00 in 1927. This is the finest example I have seen of this model and it is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing or wear. Black enamel is superb and complete with only a few faint marks from storage. Caseback is superb and unengraved, with only a tiny speck of wear in each corner. The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Dial has been restored to its correct original appearance with a parchment white finish. Has new glass crystal. Grosgrain silk ribbon bracelet is superb and has original white gold filled buckle. Watch is powered by a 15 jewel Elgin grade 484 movement
