Scarce Elgin “Avigo 461” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1931.
The “Avigo” has an Air Corps specification dial with large numerals and the winged Avigo logo. It has a barrel-shaped case with a bezel punctuated by incuse lines in each corner, inlaid with black highlighting. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 37mm long and 30mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 485 movement.
