Rare Hamilton “Altair” men’s Space Age design electric wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1962.
One of the most recognizable and sought-after watches in the Electric series, the “Altair“ has an extreme asymmetric Star Trek design case and semi-detached lugs. With an estimated production of only 1,600 watches it is difficult to find today, especially in such exceptional condition as this one, and with the very rare original metal bracelet. The case on this example is nice and crisp with no brassing. Lugs are undamaged. Caseback is superb and unengraved, showing faint traces of its original factory-applied circular brushed finish. Case measures 42mm long and 31mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new acrylic crystal. Original yellow gold filled bracelet is very good, will fit a 7-1/4 inch wrist. I will also supply a leather strap if you prefer. This watch is powered by its correct Hamilton grade 505 electric movement which was previously serviced by Hamilton Electric expert Rene Rondeau years ago, but which is still running strong.
