Rare Elgin “Presentation 210” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold with black and white enamel, circa 1928.
One of the rarest and most desirable Elgin designs from the 1920s, the “Presentation 210” has an elongated tonneau-shaped solid 14K white gold case inlaid with black and white enamel geometric designs, made by the obscure Strauss & Neugass case company. This is only the second example of this rare watch I have ever offered and it was priced to consumers at $65.00 in 1928. This example is in near mint condition with no wear. The black and white enamel is superb and complete. Hinged caseback is superb and unengraved, with traces of its original factory-applied brushed finish. The case measures 35mm long and 24mm wide. Dial is excellent, has gold embossed Art Deco Egyptian-stylized numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15 jewel Elgin grade 444 movement.
