Elgin “Thrift 674” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel with black enamel bezel, circa 1931.
This striking Elgin wristwatch has a cushion-shaped case with Art Deco designs in black enamel. It was priced at $24.00 in 1931. This example is in excellent condition with all of its frosted chromium finish intact, with only a few minor nicks. Black enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is very good, with a monogram, with some light pitting. The case measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. Original dial is very good, has gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 430 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
