Rare Hamilton “Grant” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid sterling silver, circa 1933.
Although the reported production for the model is still considered quite low (only 3,403 watches in sterling), empirical evidence suggests this watch is significantly rarer than even that figure indicates, since the sterling silver “Grant” is seldom encountered. This is the first I have offered in many years. The “Grant” was catalogued only briefly for a couple of years during the depths of the Great Depression, and priced to consumers at $45.00 in 1933. This example is in excellent condition, showing only very slight wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some light marks. Case measures 36mm long and 28mm wide. Linen-textured dial is excellent and has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987-F movement.
