Very rare Hamilton “Merritt” men’s Art Deco wristwatch in 10K white gold fill, circa 1938.
The “Merritt” is very rare in white... Hamilton records show that only 702 were produced. It has a large rectangular beveled and stepped case with a curved caseback. It was priced to consumers at $37.50 in 1938. This example is in very good condition with only light brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is very good with a name engraving, and two small areas of wear near the crown. The case measures 39mm long and 27mm wide. Dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone silver Butler and parchment white finish and black enamel painted numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987A movement.
