Scarce Gruen “Enamel Quadron” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.
One of the most striking Gruen designs in the Quadron series, this watch has amazing Art Deco stylized geometric patterns engraved on the bezel filled with black enamel. This is only the second example I have offered of this hard to find model. It was priced to consumers at $65.00 in 1929. It is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Enamel is superb and complete. Curved caseback is excellent, with an attractive monogram. The case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a silver Butler finish and bold, Art Deco luminous numerals and matching hands. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Gruen grade 117 Precision Quadron movement.
