Hamilton “Wilshire” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K coral gold fill, circa 1941.
Hamilton produced coral (pink) wristwatches for only a year or two around the beginning of World War II... all models in pink are somewhat scarce due to their limited production. The coral “Wilshire” was introduced on March 14, 1940 and priced to consumers at $52.50. This example is in excellent condition with just a tiny amount of brassing to the highpoints of the bezel and lugs. Caseback is very good and unengraved with few specks of wear in the corners and near the crown. Underside of lugs show wear from metal bracelet. Case measures 50mm long and 22mm wide. Dial has been beautifully refinished to its correct original appearance with a two-tone brushed coral finish and black painted exploding Roman numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Hamilton grade 982 movement.
