Elgin “Campus” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1932.
The “Campus” has a large curved case with hooded lugs which conceal where the strap attaches. There are several varieties of this model, and this one has a series of grooves inlaid with black enamel paint. It is in very good condition with some light scratching and pitting to the chromium finish. Caseback is fair with some significant wear and pitting. The case measures 38mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is good and has stylized Egyptian gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 488 movement.
