Elgin “Premet Parisienne” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with black enamel, circa 1928.

In the 1920s, no other watch manufacturer could match Elgin’s Art Deco designs for ladies’ wristwatches and it commissioned top designers of international prominence to create some fantastic designs. This variety of Elgin’s “Parisienne” series was designed by Madame Charlotte Revil of Maison Premet which was located at 8 Place Vendome in Paris. It was priced at $35.00 in 1928. It is in excellent condition with no brassing to the bezel. Black enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with one small ding and a tiny speck of wear in each corner. The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Glass crystal is excellent with a few faint scratches. This watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 manual wind movement, just serviced and running well. Has new dark blue grosgrain ribbon strap with vintage white gold filled clasp.
