Very rare Hamilton “Tonneau Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K green gold, circa 1931.
With its large distinctive case and stylized oak leaf engraved designs, the “Tonneau Engraved” is one of the classic early Hamilton designs and like nothing else offered by other watch companies at the time. It was priced to consumers at $87.00 in 1931 and Hamilton records indicate that only 669 were produced in solid green gold, making it a very rare model. This example is in very good condition showing moderate wear to the bezel. Caseback is very good and unengraved. Case measures 34mm long and 27mm wide. Original dial is very good. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987-F movement.
