Very rare Elgin “Lucien Lelong 181” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with black enamel, circa 1928.

The rarest and most avant garde of the Elgin enamel watches, the “Lucien Lelong 181” has a bezel that is half white gold fill and half black enamel, with the dial divided diagonally to match.  It is very rare, and this is one of only a handful I have seen.  It is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing; bezel still shows traces of its original brushed finish.  Black enamel is superb and complete, with just a few light marks.  Caseback is excellent and unengraved.  The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide.  Original two-tone dial is excellent.  Has new glass crystal.  This watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 488 movement.  Grosgrain ribbon has solid 14K white gold buckle.
