Very rare Hamilton “Cameron” men’s Streamline Moderne design Packard Motor Car Co. presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, with original box and matching paperwork, circa 1938.

The Packard Motor Car Co. began a relationship with Hamilton in the 1920s, ordering specially engraved pocket watches and wristwatches to present as gifts to valued employees with long service records. Rival auto manufacturer Cadillac also purchased watches from Hamilton in the 1920s and 1930s.  Among the wristwatches purchased by Packard were the “Langley,” “Webster,” “Oakmont ,” “Custer,” “Cameron,” and “Brock” models… all solid gold.  All of these special automotive presentation watches are quite rare and very desirable… with only a few hundred of each model produced.  The “Cameron” is the second of the Packard watches produced with the grade 982 movement, with fewer than 200 made; this is one of only a handful I have seen.  This example was co-presented by the Earle C. Anthony Co., California's premier Packard dealership in the 1930s.  It is in near mint condition showing no wear.  Edges of case are sharp and crisp.  Caseback is superb and has the appropriate factory-engraved presentation from Packard Motor Car Co.  The case measures 37mm long and 23mm wide.  Original dial is very good, hands show a little tarnish.  Has new glass crystal.  Original ivory plastic box and excellent and comes with paperwork with serial numbers matching case and movement.  This watch is powered by a 19 jewel Hamilton grade 982 movement.
