Very rare Hamilton “Ventura” men’s Space Age design electric wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1962.
The white gold “Ventura” is very rare, and this is the only one I have ever offered. The “Ventura” is perhaps Hamilton’s most iconic watch. Introduced in January of 1957 with a futuristic case design to complement the technologically advanced electric movement, it was priced to consumers at $200.00 and was worn by notables such as Elvis Presley and Rod Serling. Elvis in fact owned at least two white gold versions just like this example, one of which recently sold for more than $40,000. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The ”Ventura” is a very large watch, measuring 50mm long and 32mm wide. Refinished black dial is superb, with rhodium plated gold markers and matching hands. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 11-jewel Hamilton grade 505 electric movement, serviced last year and running strong.
