Scarce Hamilton “Boone” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1937.
The “Boone” was among the first group of Hamilton watches with the new 14/0 size grade 980 and 982 movements. The most unique feature of the “Boone” is its dramatic reeded “coin edge” case. It was priced to consumers at $50.00 in 1937 and is very difficult to find with the two-tone gilt inlaid enamel dial. This example is in excellent condition with a tiny speck or two of brassing to the bezel corners and a touch to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few very tiny specks of wear. The case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Black enamel inlaid dial has been beautifully restored to its correct original appearance with a two-tone gilt-finish. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 980 movement.
